Complaint / Requirement

Respeceted Sir/Madam,

Request for Urgent help and Intervention

I am writing on behalf of all the 25plus "A"Block residents of "Saralarpuria Sanctity" Sarjapur Road.

We are the owners and living here since 14 years.

The current Management Committe of our community is forcibly planning to convert a store room to "Men's Urinals/Toilet" for public ( Delivery boys etc.,) right below our house, A 101. This is going to have many negative impact and we had submitted a petition signed by 25 plus owners of A Block. Despite of this objection by the impacted owners they are proceeding.

Negative Imapct: 1. Fresh water sump that supplies cooking and drinking water to the 213 plus houses is attached to the proposed toilet.2. It is tress passing the owners parking area 3. It is right in the entrance of the block ( as illustrated in image 6) very close to seating area and children's play area, close to the lower lowers floor flats 4. Safety and Security reasons: It will impact the allready leaking basement that may further damage the building 4. Women , Senior Citizen and Childern Safety is impacted . 5. Serious Health risk. 6. They have also removed the vegetable shop which used to be right next to the proposed toilet, that use to help many senior citizens .  here is the copy of the petition letter submitted by us. NEED URGENT HELP TO INTERVENE.

Subject: Opposition to Proposed  Toilet in "A" Block Ground Floor Next to Vegetable Shop

We, the undersigned residents and owners of "A" Block, Salarpuria Sanctity, are writing to formally and with significant concern express our strong opposition to the proposed operationalization of the toilet facility located on the ground floor of "A" Block, adjacent to the vegetable shop. While we acknowledge the initial provision for this facility by the builder, its non-operational status for the past fifteen years has established a certain understanding, and we believe there are compelling reasons to maintain the current status quo.

Our objections are based on several critical factors that we believe warrant your serious consideration:

  1. Toilet Exhaust Window Facing the Main Entrance: The current design of the toilet includes an exhaust window that directly faces the main entrance of "A" Block, with all exhaust directed inwards. This design is inherently flawed and would undoubtedly lead to unpleasant odors permeating the common areas, significantly impacting the living environment for all residents entering and exiting the block.
  2. Proximity to the Drinking Water Sump and Potential Health Hazard: We are deeply concerned about the close proximity of the proposed toilet to the drinking water sump that serves the entire community. The builder's initial decision not to make the toilet operational due to the lack of water connection and the potential for health hazards arising from any leakage or seepage remains a valid and critical concern. Compromising the safety and hygiene of our drinking water supply is an unacceptable risk.
  3. Adjacency to the Vegetable Shop and Associated Health Risks: Locating an operational toilet directly adjacent to a vegetable shop poses significant health risks. The exhaust fumes and potential for unsanitary conditions could directly impact the hygiene and quality of the fresh produce sold, creating an unhealthy environment for both shoppers and residents.
  4. Potential for Persistent Odor Issues: Even with diligent maintenance, toilets can be a source of unpleasant odors, especially if not optimally ventilated. The proximity of this proposed facility to a commercial establishment like a vegetable shop and the main entrance of our block makes the potential for pervasive and unwelcome smells a significant concern.
  5. Inconvenient Accessibility: The location of the proposed toilet does not offer convenient access for a majority of residents. Its placement in a less accessible area may lead to considerable inconvenience for owners and tenants whose car parking spaces are situated nearby, potentially disrupting pedestrian flow and creating unnecessary congestion.
  6. Potential Negative Impact on Property Value and Aesthetics: The introduction of a functional public toilet in such a visible and central location within "A" Block could negatively impact its aesthetic appeal and, consequently, the property values within the block. Residents may perceive this as an undesirable development, potentially affecting the overall desirability of our living environment.
  7. Increased Long-Term Maintenance Costs: Operationalizing this toilet will inevitably lead to a long-term increase in the maintenance costs borne by the society. This includes expenses related to regular housekeeping, water consumption, and potential repairs, which would represent an ongoing financial burden for all residents in the future.
  8. Lack of Prior Communication and Plan Sharing: We are deeply concerned that there has been no prior communication or detailed plan shared with the residents regarding this significant agenda item before the upcoming Special General Meeting (SGM). This lack of transparency and consultation is unsettling.
  9. Absence of Renovation Plan Information: The Management Committee has not provided any information or details regarding the proposed renovation or modification required to make this long-dormant toilet functional. Residents are left uninformed about the scope of work, potential disruptions, and the rationale behind this initiative.
  10. No Budget Allocation Mentioned: We have noted the absence of any mention of a dedicated budget allocation for this project in any prior communications, meeting minutes, or financial documents shared with the residents. This lack of financial transparency raises serious concerns about the planning and funding of this proposed endeavor.

Given these substantial reasons,  we strongly urge the Management Committee NOT to proceed with the proposal to make the toilet in "A" Block functional and to maintain the existing status quo. We believe that the potential negative impacts on the health, well-being, convenience, and property values of the residents far outweigh any perceived benefits.

We respectfully request your prompt attention to this critical matter and look forward to a resolution that prioritizes the well-being and concerns of all residents of "A" Block. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Yours sincerely,

Residents and Owners of “A” Block Salarpuria Sanctity Sarjapur Road Bangalore 560035
