I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue concerning a neighbouring building that appears to be violating building norms and causing severe disturbance to nearby residents.

A building adjacent to our property located at [ Construction site Opposite to Krishnaveni Appartment, 7th Main 6th Cross, Muniyappa Layout, Garvebhavi Palya, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560068 ] has been constructed up to 5.5 floors on half a site, which seems to exceed the permissible limit for the area. Moreover, the builder has installed large windows (approximately 6 to 7 feet high) for all their floor on the back side of their building, all of which face directly towards our property. Despite our repeated requests, the builder has constructed the structure attached directly to our building, without leaving any space between the two properties, which is a clear violation of building setback rules. When we approached them to discuss this issue, they responded rudely, saying it is their land and they can do as they wish.

In addition to these violations, we are facing extreme noise disturbance from their ongoing construction work. Heavy drilling and hammering sounds used to start as early as 6:30 AM for about a month. After repeated requests from our side, they have now been starting the work around 8:20 AM for the past month, but the disturbance continues throughout the day until evening 6 or 7 PM, 7 days a week, even no respite for us during holidays. Even after multiple requests to limit work timings — especially since we have a sick patient, elderly parents, and small baby at home — they have continued to cause significant noise disturbance.

I kindly request BBMP to:

1. Inspect the construction for any building bylaw violations, including excess floors and lack of setback.

2. Take immediate action to stop illegal construction work if found non-compliant.

3. Restrict early morning and late evening construction activities that are causing disturbance to residents.

Please treat this as an urgent matter, as the construction is ongoing and causing continuous nuisance and safety concerns.
